Philosophical Week

Perth – May 8th to 16th.

This the Perth School’s first Philosophical Week and the event is open to all current School of Philosophy students who have been initiated into the practice of meditation.

The week will run from 6pm on Saturday evening May 8, to 10am on Sunday May 16, 2010 and take place at Swanleigh College in Middle Swan.

The venue will accommodate up to 80 people and it is expected that most people will reside at Swanleigh College for the whole week.

Places are limited—bookings essential. Cost is $550.00 (Concession $450.00) which includes accommodation and all meals.

Special guests for the week include Dr Anuradha Choudry, from India; Mr Richard Elias, from the School of Economic Science in London; and Dr Gary Grohmann, leader of the School of Practical Philosophy in Canberra.

Free Lecture

For those wishing to attend the Introductory Course there will be a FREE Introductory Lecture held on May 19, 2010 at 7pm. The Lecture will be held at 102 Beaufort Street, Perth.

Festival of Spirit

A Festival of Spirit will be held in September 2010 at School of Economic Science in London.

The aim of the Festival of Spirit is to celebrate mankind’s essential spiritual nature. It will take place in England from 17 September to 2 October 2010 and will mark the one hundredth anniversary of the birth of Leon MacLaren, the School’s founder.

The Festival will include a number of residential periods concentrating on music, dance, Sanskrit, economics and law, renaissance studies and meditation, as well as a Young Professionals Weekend. Each day at the School’s base in London there will be morning meetings to consider Advaita philosophy and a series of evening concerts and lectures on a wide variety of subjects.

There will also be the opportunity for those engaged in particular activities and studies to meet and share their experiences. The central event will be a meeting on 26th September at The Theatre Royal Drury Lane, on the edge of Covent Garden in the centre of London. This event will be a marvellous opportunity for students from all the Schools around the world to come together.
